But more important than that, this is a compendium of examples of some of the finest s: 2.

Egypt became the center for trade routes to and from western Asia, the Mediterranean, and central Africa. Within Egypt, the Nile River served as the main trade route. The most famous trading expedition in Egyptian history occurred during the reign of the pharaoh Hatshepsut (reigned ca. – BC). Cats in ancient Egypt were represented in social and religious practices of Ancient Egypt for more than 3, years. Several Ancient Egyptian deities were depicted and sculptured with cat-like heads such as Mafdet, Bastet and Sekhmet, representing justice, fertility and power. The deity Mut was also depicted as a cat and in the company of a cat.. Cats were praised for killing venomous snakes.

Ancient Egyptian art refers art produced in ancient Egypt between the 31st century BC and the 4th century AD. It includes paintings, sculptures, drawings on papyrus, faience, jewelry, ivories, architecture, and other art is also very conservative: the art style changed very little over time. The lid of this mummy case has painted decorations that include rituals and spells from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. The book was a guide for the dead as they journeyed through the afterlife, so that their soul could live on housed in the mummy and their case. For centuries, Egyptians would paint these kinds of scenes on the walls of their tombs.
